Shipping & Care Information
Thank you for choosing our chocolates! To ensure that your purchase arrives in the best possible condition, please review our Shipping & Care guidelines carefully.
Choosing the Right Shipping Method
1. Warm Weather Shipping (Above 65°F): During warmer months or when shipping to destinations with temperatures exceeding 65°F, we strongly recommend selecting a fast shipping option. Our premium chocolates can be sensitive to heat, so each box automatically has an insulated liner and a cold pack designed to protect your chocolates for up to 48 hours.
UPS 2nd Day Air: Ideal for ensuring your chocolates remain cool and arrive swiftly.
USPS Express: Another excellent option for quick delivery, minimizing the time your chocolates spend in transit.
2. Cooler Weather Shipping (Below 65°F): Standard shipping options are typically sufficient in cooler climates or when shipping during colder months. However, choosing a quicker shipping method can further ensure the quality and freshness of your chocolates.
USPS Priority Mail: This option is generally suitable year-round for any location within Colorado during the warmer months, ensuring delivery within 1-2 days.
Our Warm Weather Rating System
We are working on adding a “Hot Weather Sensitivity Rating System” to each item in our store. You will soon find each item will have a rating between one and three. Items that are rated as “one” are not temperature-sensitive and may be shipped using slower methods. Items that are rated as “two” have some chocolate involved, but the heat will not compromise the final quality of the eating experience. Items that are rated as “three” are extremely temperature-sensitive. If that item reaches temperatures above 65 degrees F at any point during transport, that item may melt and will not have the same delicious experience.
Shipping Providers
We offer shipping via USPS and UPS to accommodate various preferences and requirements:
USPS (United States Postal Service) provides reliable nationwide coverage with several expedited options like Priority Mail and Express.
UPS (United Parcel Service) is known for its robust tracking system and quick delivery times, especially with services like 2nd Day Air.
Special Instructions and Tips
Track Your Package: We provide a tracking number with every order. Please use it to track your shipment’s progress and anticipate its arrival.
Be Available for Delivery: To prevent your chocolates from sitting in a warm location upon delivery, try to be available to receive the package directly from the carrier or arrange for it to be delivered to a location where it can be promptly stored in a cool environment.
Alternatively, Ship to a Smart Locker: If you are unable to meet your carrier for delivery, there are two options available to you. Smart Lockers may be available in your area if you have chosen USPS (United States Postal Service) as your shipping method. Select “yes” during checkout that you wish to have your package re-routed to the nearest Smart Locker and we will try our best to do that if one is available. Please note that Smart Lockers are not yet nationwide. It is advisable to Google for the nearest one to your shipping address before placing your order. If you chose UPS (United Parcel Service) as your shipping method, you may also list the nearest UPS Store as your shipping address. Please note that there may be a small fee during pickup to accept your package from them (typically around $5).
Disclaimer
Please note that while we strive to ensure your order arrives in perfect condition, the company is not responsible for melting or damage to chocolates if a slower shipping method is selected in temperatures exceeding 65°F. Remember that while USPS and UPS estimate the days to ship your items, weather anomalies and other conditions may delay your shipment. Choosing the right shipping method based on the climate and expected weather is crucial for maintaining the quality of your chocolates.
Shipping Schedule
To further ensure the quality of your chocolates upon arrival, we have implemented a strategic shipping schedule. We ship our products on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. This policy helps prevent your chocolates from remaining idle over the weekend in potentially hot distribution centers, which can compromise their quality.
Why We Ship Midweek:
Minimize Transit Time: Shipping early in the week reduces the risk of storing your chocolates in non-climate-controlled environments during the weekend.
Quicker Delivery: By avoiding the weekend, we aim to streamline the delivery process, allowing the chocolates to reach you faster and fresher.
When placing your order, please consider this shipping schedule to calculate your chocolates' arrival accurately. If you order later in the week, we will hold your shipment until the following Tuesday to make sure that it is sent out under the most optimal conditions. This approach helps us maintain the highest quality of your chocolates from our door to yours.
